We have all been there. Summer comes, the books close and every child runs amok. Except math, of course, because apparently math is the cockroach of homeschool subjects and survives every season.
I always begin summer with comically high expectations. My children will laugh together, never argue, read quietly in the sunshine, and peace will float through my home like I am Julie Andrews twirling through a field in “The Sound of Music.”
I can hear you laughing, because if you know you know.
Instead, my summertime reality is paint smeared on the drawer handle, bathing suits and wet towels are scattered about the house, and a pair of sandals are on separate floors of my home (still trying to figure out how this happens) and my children…well to say that I have asked them to use “kind words” no more than 20 times would be a lie.
This is usually the point when I begin searching for a camp to entertain my children. Not because I don’t love my children. I do. Deeply. Fierce. With my whole heart.
But also, silence.
So I whip out my computer, pour yet another cup of coffee and scour all the Facebook groups. Of course, we homeschool parents want every moment to be meaningful for our children, so the narrowing down of the endless list of camps is a task in and of itself.
Rest easy, Pathfinder has created a list for you.
Click here to find camps from all over the state. And if you know of a great camp we should add, please text or call us at (833) 348-6330.
May your coffee be stronger than your children,
